Updated Visitation Policy
As the pandemic continues, the visitation policy at Åܹ·ÂÛ̳ Hospital has been updated.
Effective July 27, 2021, each patient at Åܹ·ÂÛ̳ Hospital will be allowed ONE visitor per week for a 30-minute period. The visitor must be an immediate family member, a spouse or child. No young children will be allowed to visit at this time. The only exception will be in an end-of-life situation and this will be done at the discretion of the Medical Director.
Each visitor is required to come through the Emergency Room entrance where they will be screened by having their temperature taken. Visitors will be required to wear an N95 mask. Masks will be provided for all visitors, and must be worn at all times while inside the building.
SCREENING PROTOCOLS
Effective immediately, all those who enter the hospital will be allowed entrance ONLY through the main entrance or the ER entrance. Upon presentation at these entry points, all individuals will have their temperature checked and will be asked a short series of screening questions. Any individual with a positive finding will not be permitted entry to the hospital.
These measures are being taken out of an abundance of caution with our primary focus being on the safety of our patients and staff.
IOP PATIENTS
The IOP program at Åܹ·ÂÛ̳ Hospital will be closed until further notice. Our IOP staff will make sure that all our IOP patients receive their medicines, and a phone number will be made available to them in case they have any questions about their medicines or any other aspect of their care.
These actions are being taken in response to the current CDC recommendations and the guidelines being issued by the President’s Coronavirus Taskforce. We ask for everyone’s patience and understanding as our country goes through this very difficult time. And please understand that these measures are being taken with the best interests of our patients, staff, and community in mind.
This policy will be updated and made available as new recommendations and guidelines are issued by our governmental authorities.
FOR OUR EMPLOYEES:
As an employee of Åܹ·ÂÛ̳ Hospital, these guidelines are being made available to you in order to protect yourself and our patients.
Specific Preventive Measures For Employees
* All hospital-related travel has been suspended
* Meetings or gatherings of more than 10 people are prohibited
* If you feel sick, call your department head before coming to work
* If you have a temperature, or are experiencing other flu-like symptoms, stay home after notifying your department head
* If you have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, you should self-quarantine for 14 days, and then notify your department head and the Infection Control Coordinator before returning to work
* If you choose to travel by plane, or decide to go on a cruise ship, you must self-quarantine for 14 days, and then notify your department head and the Infection Control Coordinator before returning to work
General Preventive Measures For Employees
* Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing
* If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, preferably with at least 60% alcohol
* Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth in general and with unwashed hands
* Actively practice social distancing by staying at least 6 feet away from others where possible
* Avoid close contact with people who are sick
* Use proper etiquette for coughs and sneezes:
* Cover a cough/sneeze with a tissue, throw tissue in the trash and wash hands
* Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces like phones, keyboards and doorknobs
* Use teleconference/video-conference in lieu of meeting in person whenever possible
* Educate yourself on COVID-19, its symptoms, and the potential health concerns associated with it
* Reach out to your department head or the Infection Control Coordinator if you have any questions or concerns related to health and safety of yourself or your coworkers
* Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, drink lots of fluids, and eat nutritious food
* Follow updates from the CDC, State Health Department, and the regular televised briefings from the President’s Coronavirus Task Force
Please be aware that these guidelines are based upon the latest information available. This policy will be updated regularly as more information becomes available. Above all, DON’T PANIC, but TAKE THE RECOMMENDED PRECAUTIONS.
