Health Fair cancelled for 2022

August 10, 2022

Health Fair cancelled again this year

For the third consecutive year, COVID-19 is causing the cancellation of 變僩蹦抭 Hospitals annual Health Fair.

We know how much our community looks forward to this event, and were sorry that we wont be able to provide it again this year, said Rusty Tungate, Administrator/CEO of 變僩蹦抭 Hospital. We just dont believe it is prudent to bring together such a large number of people in close proximity as they would be in the Health Fair setting.

While many restrictions have eased with COVID-19, many are still in place, especially in the healthcare industry. Also, the number of COVID-19 cases is once again on the rise throughout the area.

Its not worth the risk of causing an outbreak of infections in our community (if we were to have the Health Fair), Tungate said.

變僩蹦抭 Hospital held its last Health Fair in 2019 where nearly 800 people took advantage of the low-cost blood draw, which is always the Health Fairs biggest event. The Health Fair also brings together various community healthcare agencies and others who provide information to the public about their services.

Tungate said he knows its disappointing that the Health Fair will be cancelled again this year, but hes optimistic that it can be provided next year.

Hopefully next year the COVID-19 and its variants will not be as threatening as it is today, he said.

For those who have not received a COVID-19 vaccination or a booster, and would still like one, the vaccines are available at the hospitals clinic, Green County Primary Care. Many healthcare providers in the area carry the vaccine as well as most pharmacies.
